At seventeen, Sam joined the United States Army and was quickly deployed to Viet Nam where he served 3 tours. He served with the 101st Airborne and achieved the title of Master Parachutist and also served with the 612th Heavy Boat, dispatched on the Delta River. While in Viet Nam he earned a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry Badge, A Meritory Service Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and many other awards and citations. He served in the United States Army for the next 20 years with various other units including: the 1st Infantry Division and the 1st Armored Division, the 3rd Armored Division and the 1st Calvary Division.

For the next twenty years of his life he would endure many hardships: Two failed marriages ending in divorce, problems with drugs and alcohol, and hot bike riding, hot car driving and hot check writing led to several brushes with the law. Sam was still living fast and fierce.

Then, with the help of his new wife, and much prayer, Sam began to turn his life around.

He accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. For the past 16 years he has been in "Tribe of Judah Motorcycle Ministries" and is currently the National Road Captain.

Today he Pastors "Harvest Field Church" in Carlos, Texas.
